From what Iāve learned, Jupiter is our planet of abundance, expansion, wisdom, faith and luck. In the workbook I am using (Astrology For Yourself by Douglas Bloch & Demetra George), Jupiter is the planetary ruler of Sagittarius āļø, and āsymbolizes our search for meaning, truth and ethical values.ā Whereas Gemini represents knowledge/learning, Sagittarius (and thus Jupiter) represent understanding and wisdom, or expansion of the mind/soul. It goes on to offer this comparison: āWhile Mars directs its fiery energy in one direction, Jupiter expands like a balloon in all directions.ā There are, however, what are known as unskillful expressions of Jupiter such as exaggeration or excess...ātoo much travel may lead to rootlessness.ā OOF, if this doesnāt ring true to my own experience as a rogue anthropologist backpacker explorer in my mid-20s. I had SUCH luck and privilege to be able to craft my own itinerary as a farm volunteer in countries like Nepal and Kenya- gone for 10 months, to my parents dismay. When I returned to the U.S., I found it hard to assimilate back into my own culture, and so I chose to start a family in order to lay down some roots.
In the photo below, I am the embodiment of Jupiter and Sagittarius - my arm reaches for the sky like an arrow... in my natal chart, Jupiter is in Capricorn in the 8th house of shared resources (hence my luck in travel)...I am grounded, feet firm on the rock but rising. I have expanded, looking to the horizon on a sunny day. Jupiter, the āgreat beneficā in the sky, can bring abundance into our lives, if we keep ourselves in check -which is what Saturn is for- and we will get to Saturn only after Friday (Venus Day). Thanks for reading and playing along with my Astro photo essays pertaining to my own natal chart. My aim is to show how folks that astrology is accessible to everyone, and anyone can interpret their chart with studies, guidance and the desire to learn.
