Welcome to the funhouse season of The performer, where all the world’s a stage! We can still see lions performing in circuses of yesteryear… can you imagine how much courage it takes to train a lion? I imagine it takes a lot of hurt pride and pain to allow yourself to be trained into a form of entertainment slavery. Let’s look to the heart of the matter, from the standpoint of a lion that is wild and free.
🔥 Your warmth brings us to your fire- it’s a really hot party and you are the charismatic host- taking center stage. You sprinkle everything around with a layer of gold enamel and glitter. Your joy and your pride, is a happy, fun tribe. It is no wonder that we call it a pride of lions.
Leo rules the 5th house of fun, creativity, sex, pleasure, risk-taking and fertility. This is such a great place to be, and one I know well, as a 5th house Libra sun.
Leo is the fire in our hearts, the spirit we are most proud to radiate outward- it is the very Sun, solar flares and all. Leo reminds us to have the courage to show our true colors, our soul’s purpose, our joy- not for the showing, but for the sharing.
Though I respect your talents, your presence, your skills and gifts, I will never put you on a pedestal- this is where your popularity ends.
As with any sign, there are shadow aspects or unskillful, low expressions. Leo can become self-absorbed with an inflated ego- the lion can burst into flames, causing a raging wild fire - and it can demand attention/appreciation.
🌟 It takes a certain kind of love and power to command an audience - and yet it takes a different kind of love and strength to be able to be authentically you, on your own, and love every minute of it.
So, are we the lions or the lion tamers? I think there is a season for each.
