The diplomat, the peacekeeper, the dancing leaf.
The season season of my solar return (and that of my second son). The season when the leaves on trees do their color-changing magic and dance in the air while falling to the ground.
I wrote a song for guitar, just a little ditty, on a beautiful and deeply magical autumn in Portland, Oregon. I gave it the title: Leaves Falling Gracefully to Die. How fitting for a Libran to use music, dance, art and whimsy to color the air, just like the remarkable offerings those vibrant colored leaves bring us on their journey back to dirt.
I am of course biased, but this season marking the shift to longer nights and shorter days, Mabon in pagan times, is my very favorite, because I, like Mighty Aphrodite, feel so at home here in my domicile. Every year during this time, I feel a “coming-home”- and this is when our sun sign, our SOULar power is energized and regenerated to its full expression.
Libra is an interpersonal cardinal air sign, which means its primary focus (function?) is to relate. Could be coupling, could be any form of partnerships- even landlord + tenant. How we relate to others is one of the most important things to consider on the daily. I think we should expect and prepare for conflict, and learn the skills necessary to effectively resolve less-than-desirable relational dynamics.
My question in relationships, whether they be platonic or romantic, familial or acquaintance:
Not: “do you love me?” But... “Do you love yourself?” And this is the question Libra must keep in mind when faced with any major or unsettling decision: do you love yourself? What do you love and want the most?
*Prioritize to Synthesize*
Libra gets a bad rep for being indecisive, and trust me it’s hard on us, but this too is important for us. We feel the need to weigh our options (ALL options) because doing so will help us arrive at the best choice, the most quality product, or the most just outcome.
This is why it is said that Librans can make effective judges or lawyers. Social justice and equality are big concepts that are deeply embedded within the scales.
Though concepts like true social justice and equality remain elusive, the true Libran will never give up fighting for what is fair for all. That can make it super hard to let go of injustices, which can cause a lack of boundaries within the Libran soul.
We know that boundaries are essential no matter what your zodiac signs are. Boundaries keep us in alignment with who we are and who we want to be. Libra can serve itself by working on interpersonal boundaries, as well as mental boundaries. Watching our thoughts and if we are latching on too tightly to any one of them.
In certain ways, I am reminded of Virgo when I think of Libra. For instance, the Virgo virgin wants to keep things orderly and clean, and in similar fashion, Libra aims for keeping things harmonious. There is a sense of needing balance and order for overall peace of mind. This means that when things get messy or when conflict arises, these two signs may struggle a little bit more within themselves.
So, dear Libra, do not lose yourselves to the others around you - take good care of you, and the rest will fall into place thereafter. You’ll find a way 🌞
